How to get there?

We kindly ask all wedding guests to arrange their own transportation to the venue.

By car:

By taxi:

If you prefer the convenience of a taxi, you can easily book one through the "Freenow" app. A trip from the City Centre to the wedding venue typically costs between €30 and €40.

By bus:

For those opting for public transport, you'll find accessible routes via lines 120, 120A, and 120B, departing from Dublin City Centre. These buses will drop you off to Barberstown Castle (from Dublin, Stop 133851, Barberstown Cross). The cash fare is €2,60 or €2 with a leap card.

Schedule for the Day at Barberstown Castle Hotel:

14:30 – Wedding Ceremony
15:00 – Prosecco Reception: Enjoy some bubbles and mingle with fellow guests.
17:30 – Dinner & Toasts: Heartfelt toasts will kick off the evening, followed by a delicious meal.
21:00 – Party Time!: Get ready to hit the dance floor and celebrate the night away!

The DJ will wrap up at 1:30 AM, and the bar will remain open until 3:00 AM, so be sure to grab your last drink before then!

Accommodation

If you would like to stay overnight at Barberstown Castle Hotel, we have reserved a block of rooms at a special rate. Please note that room availability is limited, so we recommend contacting the hotel directly to check availability and mention our wedding code: C&D0904

The rates are as follows:

Double room (2 guests), including breakfast: €230 per night
Additional adults in the same room: +€50 per person per night
Single occupancy, including breakfast: €220 per night

Check-in time: 3 PM*

Check-out time: 11:30 AM

* The hotel reception can safely store your luggage until after the wedding ceremony, when you'll be able to check in.

Is parking available at the venue?

Yes, parking is available on-site at the venue for all guests.

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

The entire day, from the ceremony to the party, is planned to take place indoors, so weather won’t be a concern.

What's the weather like at this time of the year?

Early April in Dublin is typically mild but can still be a bit chilly. Daytime temperatures range from 12°C to 15°C, and at night, they drop to around 5°C. While both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors, we still recommend bringing a jacket.

Are there other accommodations nearby?

The closest accommodation to Barberstown Castle is the Straffan Inn, about a 16-minute walk away. Alternatively, we recommend staying in Dublin city center and taking a taxi when you're ready to leave. A taxi fare would be approximately €30-40.

Will there be food and drinks provided?

Yes, a five-course dinner will be served, along with wine. After dinner, guests are welcome to visit the bar for additional drinks. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance, and accommodations will be made.

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Please mention any dietary restrictions in your RSVP, or feel free to contact us directly so we can accommodate your needs.

Can I bring my kids?

We warmly welcome children to join the celebration! However, we kindly suggest that parents consider the festivities when deciding whether to bring their little ones. We want all our guests, many of them parents themselves, to feel comfortable and fully enjoy the evening. If you are able to arrange childcare for the occasion, we would greatly appreciate it. Whatever decision you make, we look forward to sharing this joyous occasion with you.

Is there a dress code for the reception?

By car:

Foley's Bar is accessible by car; however, parking space on the streets may be very limited. If you choose to drive, we recommend using nearby parking facilities like Q-Park (website) on Dawson Street or Stephen's Green. You can use this handy Google Maps link to enter your starting point and find the quickest route to the venue. Alternatively, you can check the map below.

By taxi:

If you prefer the convenience of a taxi, you can easily book one through the "Freenow" app (website). The fare of such trip will be very dependant on your starting point.

By bus:

The closest bus stop is Merrion Row (Stop Number: 748). The following buses serve this stop: 38, 38A, 38B, 38D, 39, 39A, and 70. The cash fare is €2.60, or €2 with a Leap Card.

By tramway:

The tram line will get you quite close to your destination. Take the Green Line and get off at "St. Stephen's Green." From there, you can stroll through St. Stephen's Green Gardens and continue down Merrion Row to Foley's Bar. It's about an 8-10 minute walk, but you might find yourself distracted by the beautiful park along the way!

What are the details of the second day festivities?

After the big day, join us to unwind on Thursday, April 10th, starting at 6 PM at Foley's Bar (website) in Dublin City Centre, where we've reserved an area at the main bar. We'll enjoy some finger food, and live music will begin at 9 PM.

Will food be provided?

Yes, we will have a selection of finger food platters available for everyone to enjoy. Guests are welcome to visit the bar for drinks.

Is there a dress code?

No, there is no formal dress code. This will be a casual evening out, so feel free to come dressed as you would for a night out!
